London Mayor Ken Livingstone has called today's attack on central London as a "cowardly terrorist attack" and is asking all Londoners to support the police and emergency services. He also called on all the city's diverse communities to unite.

Speaking from Singapore, Livingstone added: "Innocent people coming from all of London’s communities have been targeted by this indiscriminate attack. I urge Londoners from all of this city’s diverse communities and faiths to support one another and stand together against terrorism.
Speaking to reporters, he further added: "Black and white, Muslim and Christian, Hindus and Jews, young and old. It was an indiscriminate attempt to slaughter irrespective of any considerations for age, class, religion - whatever."
