The Muslim Council of Britain has been condemned by Lord Janner, chairman of the Holocaust Educational Trust for its continual boycott of the annual event.

According to the BBC, the MCB had been considering its position but has decided to not take part or support the day.

“The decision of the MCB to boycott Holocaust Memorial Day, together with its failure to condemn the Iranian President’s evil denial of the Holocaust, is sad and unacceptable,” said Lord Janner who is also vice president of the World Jewish Congress

“All of us, Muslims and Jews alike, must remember the Nazi murders of the past as a key in our battle to prevent such racist horrors in the future. I would have thought the many Muslims that have taken part in local commemorative events across the country over the years, would not understand this position.”
