A former senior manager at Israeli financial institution Bank Leumi has joined rival FIBI Bank to become managing director in the UK.

Dov Kol takes over from David Levinson who is retiring from FIBI in the UK and returning back to Israel.

Kol previously spent over a decade working in various roles for Bank Leumi before joining shipping company Zodiac Maritime Agencies where he most recently was general manager.

FIBI has been operating in the UK since 1981 and is subsidiary of the First International Bank of Israel and offers a range of commercial and private banking services.

Kol says he is looking forward to working in banking again and the challenge. "I am delighted to be joining FIBI Bank. FIBI have an excellent reputation both in the UK and Israel and I very much look forward to building upon the great work already done by my predecessor David Levinson and the team at FIBI.”

"Dov’s knowledge and expertise in the areas of banking and technology will be a great asset to us and I very much look forward to working with him," added David Granot, chairman of FIBI Bank in the UK.

As well as the FIBI brand, the bank also owns Poaley Agudat Israel Bank which caters towards the ultra-orthodox Jewish community.
