Costumes from Angels
Legendary London costume house Angels is to auction off some of the most famous outfits that it has ever supplied.
More than 400 costumes supplied by the family run Jewish company, which has lasted five generations since Maurice Angel started it in 1840, will go under the hammer at Bonhams Auction House in London next month.
Highlights will include suits worn in the James Bond movies by Sean Connery and Pierce Brosnan, Obi-Wan Kenobi's cloak from Star Wars and costumes worn by several Dr Who actors, including a complete outfit Tom Baker wore when starring as the Timelord.
Outfits worn by Rachel Weisz, Stephen Fry, Peter Sellers, Dustin Hoffman and Steven Berkoff will also be among those auctioned.
Current chairman Tim Angel said: "The joy of being in this business is that you know you are creating something that will help an audience immerse itself in a different world. Our costumes are famous for fulfilling the exact requirements and needs of the film, and are researched and tailored to the highest standard."
He added: "Whether it is the cloak of a Jedi knight from a galaxy far, far away, or the most elegant suit worn by Her Majesty's best secret agent, our job is done if the audience are convinced by the authenticity and effectiveness of the costumes shown on the screen."
