The United Synagogue's young division, Tribe, has held its largest ever weekender with 150 11-13 year olds taking part in a Bnei Mitzvah in Wales.

The Shabbaton event at Cefn Lea Park saw the young people take part in a series of events focused on community building and the importance of Shabbat.

As well as religious aspects of the weekend, participants took part in a spoof Eurovision Song Contest called Communovision which saw teams from various US communities creating songs.

"It was hugely satisfying to see our teens participate in and enjoy the Shabbat experience when many have never done so before," said Tribe executive director Rabbi Andrew Shaw.
