In a move to improve the quality of its shul board of managements, the United Synagogue has held two days of training for over 120 people who are now active in running their synagogues.
The two events took place at St. John's Wood Synagogue and Cockfosters and North Southgate were addressed by US chief executive Rabbi Saul Zneimer, US community division director David Kaplan as well as other specialists.
Among the areas covered were social action, keeping kosher, education and marriage.
"These seminars are about how the centre can help all our US communities, and the stalls ensured that our new Board of Managements could see the depth and breath of support we can give," said Rabbi Zneimer. "It was also an opportunity for us to hear and share ideas across all our communities."
