Uniting Jews and Arabs

Former West London MP, Clive Soley, who is now a Lord, is hoping to organise an annual conference to bring Jews and Arabs living in the UK together and help them develop better relation and understanding.
Lord Soley, who represented Ealing Acton and Shepherds Bush until stepping down from Parliament at the 2005 elections, is seeking to further expand the Arab-Jewish Forum.
In describing the group to members of the Three Faiths Forum which beings Jews, Muslims and Christians together, the Arab-Jewish Forum is called "an initiative to enable the two communities to develop closer and stronger ties, with a better understanding of their perceptions of each other."
To date, three half-day conferences have taken place in Parliament, but Lord Soley is looking to raise £30,000 for his group so it can put on a two-day residential conference.
During the conference, anything said by those attending would be held in confidence. "The conference would be run under the Chatham House rule to ensure confidentiality and free discourse," members were told.
