An Israeli Palestinian group that was set up to support families who have had relatives killed in the Middle East conflict is due to include a meeting with a visit to the Board of Deputies as part of a UK tour.
Two members from The Parents Circle-Families Forum: Israeli Palestinian Bereaved Families For Peace have already visited the House of Lords and met with the Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams.
Robi Damelin lost her son who was shot by a sniper on reserve duty with the Israel Defence Forces while Ali Abu Awwad lost his brother and was himself shot in the leg by an Israeli living in the West Bank.
The group numbers 500 families and aims to bring Israelis and Palestinians together to seek a peaceful solution to the current problem between the two sides.
No one can fail to be impressed by their determination to turn their grief into something positive in order achieve a cessation to the violent conflict. They should be fully supported," said Flo Kaufmann, Board vice president and chair of its international division.
