Denise Phillips, is 38, a mother with three young children living in London. Denise is an active member of Northwood Orthodox United Synagogue.
She trained professionally with the renowned restaurateur Prue Leith in 1990 and then went on to set up a successful catering business.
In the last 3 years, Denise has made a name for herself in developing her theme of modern kosher stylish cooking. Denise is the author of Modern Jewish Food with Style (UK) and The Book of Jewish Cooking (USA). Denise has been writing for the cookery column for the Jewish Press for nearly 5 years and presently teaches at the ICE - Institute of Culinary Education, the Sephardic Centre, Brooklyn and the JCC - the Jewish Community Centre.
She wrote for the London Jewish News for two years (1999-2001), now writing weekly for Ms London, and also has columns in the Jewish Press (New York), cookery columns of distinction, and regularly demonstrates her unique style of cooking at Books for Cooks in London. You can hear her on regular slot on Shalom FM (87.9 FM) and listen to the latest update on modern Jewish Food.
