A World Jewish Relief committee which aims to help Jews in Serbia has raised £4,000 at a book signing by former Cosmopolitan editor Linda Kelsey.
The Connections Committee hosted an evening signing of Kelsey's new book Fifty is not a Four- Letter Word.
Money raised from the event will provide financial help to students to attend university. Since launching in 1990, the Connections committee has helped more than 280 students with their education.
"We are delighted that Linda Kelsey so generously attended the evening to sign her new book and are grateful to her and to all those who attended for their generous support," said Linda Rosenblatt, vice chairman of World Jewish Relief. "The money raised will make a huge difference to the lives of deserving Jewish students, helping them to achieve a first-class education and thereby giving them a better chance for the future."
