Join Denise Phillips in Florence

This five day trip of hands-on cooking specialises in Tuscan and regional cooking.

Classes are in English and printed recipes will be provided. Emphasis will be on preparation and the historical aspects of cooking. Following each class you will take part of the meal that has been prepared, accompanied by the appropriate wines. A visit to the open-air market will allow you to learn about and select ingredients to be used in class. At the completion of the program you will be presented with a certificate.

Accommodation
You will be staying at a boutique hotel in Florence, centrally located to museums and shopping.

Itinerary
The length of stay is 5 days/4 nights. Where as travel arrangements to and from Pisa are the responsibility of each partisan, (Travel arrangements can be made with Ashley at 'its the way to travel' on 0208 346 5400). Upon arrival in Pisa as a group, we will be met for the trip to Florence. In addition to the cooking classes, there is touring to various points of interest in Tuscany, along with ample time for shopping in the exquisite shops of Florence.


Kashrut
This programme is kosher style.


Instructors
Cristina Blasi and Gabriella Mari are the main teachers, winetasters, olive oil experts and authors of a cook book relating to the cooking of ancient Rome. They are the owners of the prestigious cooking school in Florence, Scuola di Arte Culinaria "Cordon Bleu". Denise Phillips will be assisting in these classes as well, author of modern Jewish Cooking with style and The book of Jewish Cooking.


Sunday 9 November 2003:

Depart Gatwick, 9 AM, arrive Pisa 12 noon.
Pick-up at airport for trip to Florence
Check into hotel with a light lunch
Walking tour of Florence with a guide
Dinner at La Giostra Club, Florence


Monday

Visit to the open air market, Florence
Visit to Fiesole for sightseeing, followed by a tour of Villa dei Maiano   (where movies 'Room With A View; and 'Tea With Mussolini' were filmed) with Contessa Corsini
Olive oil tasting at Fattoria dei Maiano and lunch in the 15th century chiostro
Visit with restorers of tapestry at the chiostro
Tour of the synagogue and museum. Florence
Cooking class 6:00 PM

Tuesday       
Time to sightsee and shop in Greve in Chianti
Visit to Castello Vicchiomaaggio, Greve in Chianti, with a tour of the wine cellar, wine tasting and lunch
Free time in Florence
Cooking class 6:00 PM

Wednesday
Visit to San Gimignano
Visit and lunch in Siena
Cooking class 6:00 PM

Thursday
13/9 Visit to Caseificio Lucano, producer of dairy products, with a tasting, Florence.
Transfer to Pisa airport for 12:55 flight to Gatwick, arriving 2:10 PM
                     

The cost excluding the travel will be £985.00
I will be escorting the trip and will be working in conjunction with the Condon Bleu team in Florence.
