Prince Charles and his wife, the Duchess of Cornwall are to visit Poland at the end of this month to open Krakow's new Jewish Community Centre.

This will be the third visit by the Prince of Wales who is the patron of the centre which has been built by World Jewish Relief. For his wife, Camilla, it will be her first visit to the country.

Previously, Charles visited Poland in 1993 and 2002.

At a fundraising dinner for WJR, Charles spoke of his support for the project. "When this centre is built, it will re-lay the foundation for Krakow‘s Jewish community, which go back so far and have such cultural and spiritual depths," he said.

According to WJR, the centre, which opens on April 29, "will become the hub for the whole community" and offer facilities for all ages including senior citizens as well as those studying in the city.
