AJEX donation to Nightingale
Residents and guests visiting Jewish old age home Nightingale will soon be able to sit down in more comfort following a donation of nearly £10,000 to refurbish 250 chairs at the south London care home.
The Association of Jewish Ex-Servicemen (AJEX) raised the money and a special afternoon tea in which national AJEX chairman Peter Wagerman as well as outgoing AJEX chairman Harold Newman and Alan Levine, chairman of the AJEX Welfare Division attended.
Joining them as hosts were Nightingale chief executive Leon Smith and trustee Rosalind Preston as well as a number of residents who are AJEX members.
