Stabbing man charged

Police have charged a man on two counts of assault grievous bodily harm following two seperate stabbings of members of the Jewish community in Golders Green, north west London late on Friday afternoon.

Mohamed Jama Ahmed, 37, of North Circular Road, north west London is to appear at Hendon Magistrates Court following his arrest on Sunday afternoon.

In one incident, a 47-year-old man in The Drive recieved stab wounds to his arm and chest following an incident in which the suspect then drove away in the victim's Volvo car.

In the other incident which is believed to have happened earlier in the afternoon, a 43-year-old man was stabbed in Beverly Gardens.

The stolen Volvo was later found abandoned in nearby Cricklewood.

Both men were taken to hospitla and are said to be in a stable condition.

According to a Metropolitan Police spokesperson, officers are keeping an open mind about the two incidents but it is not believed to be a hate related crime.
