A Jewish charity in Hendon, north west London that helps those suffering with cancer is one of the chosen charities that will be supported by the new Mayor of Barnet, Councillor John Marshall.
"Years ago a friend said to me he wished he had known about Chai Cancer Care, I am glad to be able to try to raise money for a charity for those afflicted with cancer," said Councillor Marshall, who was a former MP for Hendon south from 1987 to 1997.
As well as Chai Cancer Care getting his support, Barnet Carers Centre will also benefit from his appointment.
"I am also pleased to support Barnet Carers Centre that does so much for the unsung heroes of our society who do so much for others, the new Mayor added.
