Tourists in Israel are set to benefit from a new 24 hour telephone hotline to help them with their stay.
The Tourphone initiative from the Israel Ministry of Tourism will provide tourists with information from places to visit to directions as well as help in emergencies.
Tourists can dial the special number *3888 for any telephone and will be informed of the new service upon arrival at Ben Gurion airport.
"Quality and standard of service are the most important and influential factors in a tourist's decision to return to Israel," said Shaul Tzemach, director general of the Ministry of Tourism. "In addition, quality service helps improve Israel's image in the world as a leading tourist destination. Over the next few months, the Ministry of Tourism will work to improve the level of service for tourists in all areas of the tourism industry."
The introduction of the Tourphone comes as Israel also reported higher number of tourists visiting the country. In the first six months of this year, 1.5 million visited Israel, a rise of 45% on last year's first six months.
