First Aid training to help shul goers in times of need is set to be rolled out across United Synagogue communities.
Under its Project Chesed initiative, each synagogue will be offered a two hour and four hour first aid course to cover a range of help including managing breaks, choking and CPR.
Initial synagogues taking up the training offer include Kingsbury, Golders Green, Stanmore, Hackney and East London and Palmers Green.
"We are delighted that so many communities want to run first aid courses for their members. The preservation of human life is of utmost importance in Judaism," said Candice Woolfson, project Cheseds director at the United Synagogue. "It is so important to learn first aid as it becomes a life skill and you never know when it will be required."
