Jewish primary school, Sinai in Kenton, north west London has been gifted a torah breastplate and scroll ornaments from a family whose 5-year-old attends the school.

The Glasser family heirlooms have been owned by them for more than 25 years and at a special ceremony, three generations of the family, including 5-year-old Reese Glasser were at hand to formally donate them to Sinai.

More than 100 people attended the ceremony which saw a special performance by the school choir to mark the occasion.

According to Nicky Goldmeier, assistant headteacher and head of Jewish studies at Sinai, the gift will "enrich the pupils’ experiences of the daily educational services".
