Tracy Ann Oberman on panel

A committee from east London which raises money for Jewish Care in Redbridge more than doubled its anticipated crowd for a panel evening featuring Eastenders actress Tracy Ann Oberman.

The Local Angels group hosted the panel discussing which also featured comedienne Caroline Bernstein, personal trainer Nicki Waterman plastic and reconstructive surgeon Dr Ramakrishnan.

The panelists discussed a number of topics including whether plastic surgery can provide happiness.

"We put so much pressure on ourselves to look perfect," said Oberman. "We should learn to love ourselves and think about the messages we are sending young children about cosmetic surgery."

A delighted Gayle Klein, chair of the committee was pleased with the support shown to the event. "We hoped to sell 150 tickets but far exceeded that figure. Today not only raised vital funds but also awareness of the many services Jewish Care provides in this area."
