Boost for Israel travel

Israel's national airline, El Al, is to double the amount of weekly flights from London Luton to Tel Aviv in a move to boost tourist and business traveller demands to visit Israel.
From the summer, the airline will be increasing Luton flihts from 6 to 11 a week and overall which will see at peak times, a total of 22 flights per week leaving Heathrow and Luton combined.
“We are delighted that by increasing frequency, we can offer our customers a wider choice of flight times and departure airport," says Ofer Gat, El Al vice president for global sales.
"We are particularly pleased that we have been able to add flights to London Luton Airport, which is very convenient for many of our customers, and will help us to bring more tourists to Israel.”
Passengers at Luton are also set to benefit from a fast track service for security check of hand luggage at departure and a fast track passport check on arrival while those travelling in Business Class and also El AL Matmid Club members who will be able to use a new business lounge at the airport.
