Simone Hyams
Fans of the long-running school soap Grange Hill may well remember Hyams as Caroline Cally Donington, who joined the show in the mid-80s.
Although she stayed the course all the way to the sixth form, Cally landed few memorable storylines, although will probably be best remembered for her interest in horoscopes and palm reading and her friendship with classmate Ronnie Birtles. She also nabbed a top five hit when she appeared on the Grange Hill anti-drugs anthem Just Say No.
However, post Grange Hill Hyams gained some notoriety for her involvement with Michael Winner, after appearing in his 1993 film Dirty Weekend having embarked on an affair with the director, she sold her story to the tabloid press. However, surviving the ordeal of Winners Y-fronts did little to boost her acting career, and she hasnt done a film since.
In fact, Hyams turned her back on acting altogether and spent a while working for Virgin (although its unclear what she did for them) however, she recently signed up with modelling agency Ordinary People (for further info visit: www.ordinarypeople.co.uk) and was also spotted at the shows 20th anniversary reunion a few years back.
