I am delighted to be able to send my best wishes to the Jewish community in the United Kingdom, for Rosh Hashanah.
Britain is a religiously and culturally diverse country and, as a nation, we derive enormous strength from that diversity. I am very pleased to be able to join in the celebration at this time.
I know how significant Rosh Hashanah is in the Jewish calendar. It is not only an important religious occasion, but also a time for families to gather together to reflect on the year just gone and to look forward to a sweet year ahead.
May I take this opportunity to wish you all a peaceful and prosperous New Year.
