Ken Livingstone greeting

London Mayor Ken Livingstone
I am pleased to send warm greetings to everyone celebrating Rosh Hashanah. For the Jewish community and indeed for us all, New Year is a time for contemplation about the past and also a time to look forward with hope for what the future may bring.
It is my hope that all Londoners can continue to work together to strengthen and preserve the many things that bind us together, community to community, and resist that which seeks to divide us. In this way we can best maintain London's proud status as a city of many cultures and faiths, each contributing to the cultural richness that is one of our city's hugest assets. London's Jewish community, with its own diverse history, has been established for hundreds of years and has made and continues to make a major contribution to London's success as a great world city.
Best wishes for a joyous Rosh Hashanah and for a peaceful new year.
