SomethingJewish to boost marketing

Last updated: 2003-10-13

13 October 2003 - SomethingJewish (, the independent inclusive Jewish web site and online community has announced plans to increase its marketing activities and has also revealed that it is looking to appoint a marketing agency.

Formerly known as, SomethingJewish was launched in time for the Jewish new year which took place towards the end of September. Since October, it has started to develop its marketing campaigns.

In highly targeted Jewish areas of the UK including north-west London, SomethingJewish has started to test a number of promotional activities. One part of the campaign is the SJ flyer. The A6 flyer was strategically created to promote the site using strong images and creative copy to engage the Jewish community to read it.

"The last few weeks have seen us going out into the community letting them know about the site," said SomethingJewish founder and director Leslie Bunder. "Announcing a new site even though it came out of the popular is always a challenge, but by investing in marketing, we think the investment will pay off."

As well as traditional marketing, SomethingJewish is looking to develop ambient marketing campaigns to further consolidate its position as a leading destination for Jewish content.

According to Bunder, SomethingJewish plans to run a number of marketing activities over the next three months. "When we looked at what our plans are, we quickly realised the need for an outside agency to help us develop those plans.  We are looking for an agency who shares the same vision and values that we have for SomethingJewish and communicating the message of being the inclusive Jewish web site."
