Board President Henry Grunwald QC represented the Jewish community at a Service of Remembrance for Iraq 2003 held last Friday at St. Paul's Cathedral in the presence of Her Majesty The Queen, His Royal Highness Prince Philip and members of the Royal Family.
The service, to commemorate the lives of those lost during the recent conflict in Iraq, was attended by faith leaders from around the world including Rabbi Alan Plancey of Borehamwood & Elstree Synagogue, Rabbi Mark Winer of West London Synagogue and Sir Sigmund Sternberg.
Henry Grunwald commented: "The Archbishop of Canterbury spoke in a very dignified and moving way about Britain's action in Iraq. The service was in no way triumphalist and paid respect to those whose lives were lost during the conflict and in the continuing uncertain situation."
