I m Jewish my husband isn t and when we had our little boy Jacob I respected my husband s wishes and did not have Jacob circumcised I m aware that this prevents him from being a Jew but can you offer any advice on how best to ensure he is aware of his heritage and people?
Being uncircumcised does not prevent him being a Jew. It just means that he has the obligation to have himself circumcised when he grows up.
This will mean that he has top make a choice which effectively goes against the wishes of his father, and may become a source of contention. Most women in your situation would have their child circumcised to give them a choice when they grow up to follow a Jewish path if they so wish.
While he is still a young baby (I assume), I suggest that you think very carefully about your decision.
