Norwood's jewellery appeal

Last updated: 2004-03-16

Norwood, the leading children and family services charity, is launching an innovative and dynamic appeal this week aimed at absolutely anyone who has unwanted jewellery cluttering up their dressing tables.

Spring cleaning is just around the corner and who doesn’t have a little pot of mismatched earrings, once loved bangles or those sale items that seemed a good idea at the time?  Norwood has developed the Jewellery Appeal to turn these items into cash.  The jewellery received will be melted down and recycled and its value will then be used to help improve the lives of thousands of children, adults and families coping with learning disabilities and social disadvantage in the UK.

People willing to donate their unwanted jewellery can simply send it to a freepost address or hand in their trinkets to one of fifteen designated drop off points.  Any type of jewellery will be greatly appreciated whatever its value, type or design and whether it’s old, new, precious or costume.   It is a way for anyone to contribute to Norwood’s vital work in the community through a cashless donation.

Ros Astaire, Norwood’s Community Fundraiser said,  “This appeal is a wonderful way for Norwood to benefit and everyone can help make a difference.  Because it is for anyone, men and women, whatever their age or tastes, we are very optimistic that it will be a great success.”
