Is one obligated to have their garments checked for Shatnez in todays world? Could you please send source of the answer?
If you are looking for the source of the prohibition look at Deuteronomy 22;11. If you are asking why we can't rely on the labels on our clothes to see if there is wool and linen, then that is simply a technical question of whether labelling is 100% accurate. Your local Shatnez testing centre should be able to guide you as to which labels are trustworthy, and which need to be checked out.
