Friends raise cash

Friends Jewish Aids Trust held a successful party to support the work of their Whetstone-based parent organisation at the home of Laurence Lewis in Hampstead Garden Suburb.

Nearly £2,000 was raised from the 50 people who attended and others who gave donations despite being unable to be there in person.

Mark Cohen, chair of the Friends said: "We are absolutely delighted at the level of support we've received.

"As well as having a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon, the money we raised will make a real difference to JAT's work in sexual health education and HIV support in the Jewish community."

Next fundraising event is on Sunday June 20 when the Friends will be taking part in the 10 kilometre Walk for Life crossing and re-crossing London's bridges.

Anyone interested in joining the Friends on this walk, which is organised by Cruiseaid and is the biggest AIDS and HIV fundraiser in Europe, should contact JAT on 020 8446 8228.
