Why is it that Jews are discouraged to marry Gentiles, or sometimes even prohibited. It seems like it would be a difficult thing to deny oneself of love, if it is truly there, because two people don't share the same faith. Wasn't Moses married to a non-Hebrew, and wasn't Aaron chastised for his disapproval by God Himself? Why is it expected that Gentiles convert when in a union like this?

It states in the Shulchan Aruch, chapter 18, that a Jew must not ask a non-Jew to do work for him on Shabbos. However, a Jew is allowed to hire a non-Jew to do work or business for him as long as he does not specify that it be done on Shabbos and does not benefit from it being done then. How then can an Orthodox Shul or Orthodox household employ a Shabbos goy? It seems to me to be forbidden.

How did the custom of leaving a stone on the grave of a loved one when visiting the cemetery originate?

My mother passed away 3 years ago, until then my father would say Kaddish on the Yartzhit of her father (my grandfather). Because the rest of my mother's brothers are not religious they will not say kaddish on my grandfathers Yartzhit. After my mothers death my father said he is not a blood relative, so he has no obligation to say Kaddis, and suggested maybe I take the task. Do I need to say kaddish on his Yartzhit?
