Three runners who took part in the New York marathon have raised £15,000 to support the work of Norwood which helps disadvantaged children, adults and families.

Following the race, which took place on November 1, the trio of Laurence Nesbitt, Craig Talbert and Tracy Karet managed to get a final amount of £15,000 from their sponsors.

"It was my first marathon, and it was an incredible experience," said Nesbitt. "The crowds in New York were very supportive, and the encouragement from my sponsors was extremely helpful. I wanted to ensure that I did not let down those who had pledged money to Norwood, and that motivated me to complete the challenging course."
